    Jorie History

The very first issue of Journal of Research and Innovation in Engineering was published in 2023. That issue had only eight articles but the Editor, Engr. Prof. Akindele Folarin Alonge emphasized that “it is better to build a strong foundation with a focused start and expand gradually than to begin with a broader scope and risk operational challenges.” The managing body of JORIE at the time was known as the University of Uyo Engineering Research Group, and they officially launched the journal in 2024.

Although still in its early stages, JORIE continues to develop, fostering research contributions from academics and industry professionals. With growing interest and participation, the journal is set to become a key resource in engineering scholarship at the University of Uyo and beyond.
