Professor Akindele Folarin ALONGE
Professor Akindele Folarin Alonge is the immediate Past President of International Commission of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers (CIGR) and a Fellow of the International Academy of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers (FIAABE). CIGR which was founded in 1930, is the umbrella body of the Society of Agricultural Engineers worldwide. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Engineering of Nigeria (FAEng). He is a Fellow of the Solar Energy Society of Nigeria (FSESN). He is the current Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Uyo, Uyo in Akwa Ibom State. He became a corporate member of Nigerian Society of Agricultural Engineers (NSAE) in 1989 now called Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers (NIAE). He has served as the National Financial Secretary, National Auditor, and Regional Chairman of NIAE, South-South. He is the current National Chairman of NIAE. The position will be occupied till October 2023. He is a life member and he has been a Fellow of NIAE since 2011. For his several roles, international engagements and outstanding leadership, he was given the highest award of CIGR as the Honourary President (a lifetime recognition) of CIGR at the 20th World Congress of CIGR in Kyoto, Japan in December 2022.
He is a registered member of many other international professional bodies. This includes the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE), Canadian Society of BioEngineering (CSBE) since 2007, International Society for Food, Agriculture and Environment (ISFAE), Finland. International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS), Belgium, International Soil Tillage Research Organisation (ISTRO and International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM). He is a foundation member of the Pan African Society for Agricultural Engineering (PASAE) and registration number M001. He served as the pioneering Vice President and Secretary of the African Network Group of ASABE and later the President of that Group.. He was nominated in November 2022 as a full member of the Club of Bologna. Club of Bologna was established as a free association of leading personalities on agricultural mechanization and development of agricultural machinery sector from 31 countries of the world. He was appointed in April 2023 as the 101th member and the only Nigerian and the 3rd African in the prestigious group.
He holds a Bachelors and Masters in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Ibadan in 1987 and 1989 respectively. He also holds a Ph.D from University of Ilorin in Agricultural Engineering in 2005 with special interest in Solar drying and by extension renewable energy and climate change. Other areas of his research are engineering properties of biological materials, oil extraction from oil seeds, storage of agricultural produce, and development of crop processing machines. His current research includes production and packaging of Zobo tea, Food Safety and quality and Artificial Intelligence applications. He attended several academic and professional certificate courses in USA. Netherlands, Italy, China, Canada to enhance his erudition, competence, and capabilities in teaching, research, and community services
He has published over 140 articles both locally and internationally and presented over 40 invited papers. He was one of the top 600 profiles ranking of scientists in Nigerian Institutions according to Google Scholar Citations (GSC), second edition March 2015 (http://www.webometrics.info/en/node/99) as well as the third and fourth editions of Oct 2015 and 2016 respectively. He has attended and presented papers in over sixty (60) local conferences and over fitty (50) international conferences. His extension work has taken him to almost all the states in Nigeria, some West Africa states, South Africa, USA, Canada, France, Australia, Netherlands, Japan, Germany, Sweden, UAE, Oman and several other nations of the world for conferences, training, workshops, fellowship and visits.
He won the Graduate Engineer of the year 1989 of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Ibadan as well as Sahara Engineers’ Best Paper in Mechanical Engineering as well as Pa William overall best paper in Engineering. He has been a Corporate member of NSE since 1995. He has served and still serving in several committees of NSE. He started his career as a youth corp member in the Department of Agricultural Engineering, University of Ilorin in September 1987, returned as an Assistant Lecturer in January 1991 and rose through the ranks to Senior Lecturer in 2006. He transferred his service to become an Associate Professor in University of Uyo in 2008 and a Professor in 2011.
He is a registered Engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) with registration number R.9305 since 2002. He is a 19-year member of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE). He has served in several committees of ASABE He was one of the founding members of the African Network Group of ASABE and later became the President of the Group for three years. He has been a foundation member of the Pan African Society of Agricultural Engineering (PASAE - AfroAgEng). He was a founding member, Secretary, and the Past President of the African Network Group of ASABE. He has been an active member of the planning and organizing committee of the Alliance for Modernizing Africa Agric-Food System (AMAA) since the commencement of this ASABE Global initiative for Africa in 2019.
He was named as one of the 500 Nigerian Distinguished Patriots of all time (1960-2020) in the publication titled Nigerian Hall of Fame by Academy of Achievers Maiden Edition in 2020 (See Details). Prof Alonge won several other awards.

Dr Essien Udo (AP)
Educational Background: Dr. Essien Akpan Udo commenced his engineering training at St. Lawrence College, Brockville, Ontario, Canada where he graduated with a Diploma in Civil Engineering in 1982. After serving in the NYSC scheme in 1983, and working for few years with some engineering firms, he proceeded to the University of Port Harcourt where he completed the B. Engr in Civil Engineering in 1994. By 1995 he enrolled for a M.Sc in Construction Technology at the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos and completed in 1998. His final journey in engineering education took him to University of Nigeria, Nsukka, for a PhD in Geotechnical Engineering where he completed in 2011.
Research Interest: He conducted laboratory experiments and investigations into residual soil stabilization within the coastal plains of Akwa Ibom State. Objective was to study dilatant residual soils’ structural behavior on application of various levels of composite stabilization with cement, river sand, lime and costaceae lacerus bagasse fibre ash.. He was involved in geotechnical investigation of soil parameters for World Bank intervention in erosion control projects in Nigeria. Equally soil investigation and laboratory analysis to determine safe bearing strata for bridge piles as a public concern in Nigeria received his services and expertise. Investigation of soil’s characteristics for highways construction operations especially in Uyo in Nigeria are all part of his contributions in engineering endeavors.
Publications: At present has published 24 Engineering Articles in various local and International Engineering Journals. Equally has one book to his credit and one book chapter as contribution. Dr. Essien Akpan Udo has presented technical papers in various fora as part of his contributions towards engineering education. His publications are on-line, cited by Google Scholar, Researchgate, Academia and ORCID-ID.
Professional Experience: His industrial experience spans in design, analysis and supervision of civil engineering projects and facilities as a Consultant to some private and public institutions in Nigeria and World Bank. He was Head of Department of Civil Engineering for nine years and currently Vice Dean of Faculty Engineering. He has taught engineering courses to both undergraduate and postgraduate students over the past twenty years.
Awards Received: Dr. Essien Akpan Udo has received Fourteen Excellence Service and Appreciation Awards from various public and private organizations as at December 2024.

He was appointed as Acting Chief Examiner, NSE, Uyo Examinations Centre from Sept. 2015 –Marc 2018. He also served as Protem Chapter Chairman, Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers in Uyo, until a new Chairman was elected 2023.

Dr Phillip Asuquo
Philip Asuquo received his B.Eng. degree in Computer Engineering from University of Uyo in 2008, MSc degree in Computer Network Technology with Distinction from Northumbria University, Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK in 2011 and PhD in Communications and Network Security at the Institute for Communications Systems (ICS), 5G Innovation Centre, University of Surrey. He has been involved in EU Framework Programs (FP) and EPSRC research projects (PETRAS)- {Connected Autonomous Vehicles (CAV), Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), Location Based Services for Privacy, Trust, Reliability, Acceptability and Security of Internet of Things} and European Telecommunication Standard Institute (ETSI) topology modelling for Emergency Communications under the principal investigator, Dr Haitham Cruickshank and Prof Zhili Sun.
He is currently the Head of Department and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Engineering, University of Uyo and has worked as a Research Assistant, Research Fellow and Senior Research Fellow (Contract) from October 2016 – May 2019 at PETRAS Internet of Things Research Hub, a consortium of eleven leading UK universities working together to explore critical issues in privacy, ethics, trust, reliability, acceptability, and security. He has also been part of the Transport and Mobility demonstrator for Connected Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs) which was demonstrated as IoT TRAM Project in collaboration with the UK Government. He was also fully involved in the Cyberhygiene project at University College London (UCL) which was led by Professor Jeremy Watson from May 2016-August 2017.
He has presented papers in IEEE Conferences at University of Cambridge, Cardiff and Bologna and several other workshops on Cyber Security for Critical Infrastructures. He has published in High Impact Factor journals including IEEE Internet of things, IEEE JSAC and Elsevier Future Generation Computer Systems. He is also a Journal Reviewer for Elsevier, IEEE IoT and several Springer Journals. He is a pioneer facilitator of the Nigerian Universities E-learning program under the Federal Ministry of Education and attended the take-off technical session in collaboration with Pearson and Park Associates at Boston, Massachusetts in November 2013.
He is also a member of various professional bodies including Nigerian Computer Society (NCS), Computer Professionals Registration Council (CPN), Nigerian Computer Society (NCS) Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), and a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

Dr. Ayobami Olayemi OLADEJO

Summary
Dr. Oladejo is a senior lecturer in the Department of Agricultural and Food Engineering, specializing in Food Engineering. He has over 12 years of teaching and supervising experience for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. He has published many journal articles and a book chapter most of which are Scopus indexed. His areas of research interest include and not limited to non-thermal processing of foods (ultrasound), drying, frying and non-invasive measuring techniques (x-ray microtomography, low field nuclear magnetic resonance/magnetic resonance imaging). Dr. Oladejo is a recipient of two international grants and co-investigator of a national grant award. He is also a recipient of several scholarship and fellowship awards including TETFund, Jiangsu University Presidential Scholarship (China) and Georg Forster Experienced Researcher Fellowship of Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Germany. Associate Professor Julius Akpabio

Dr Aniefiok Livinus
Dr. Aniefiok Livinus is a Senior Lecturer at the Petroleum Engineering department, University of Uyo. He joined the University of Uyo in December, 2012 as a Lecturer II. He had both his B-Eng and M-Eng degrees in Petroleum Engineering from, (FUTO), Federal University of Technology Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria. In 2019, He obtained his doctoral degree (PhD) in Oil and Gas Engineering from Cranfield University, UK.
For the past six years, Livinus has been working on multiphase flow related projects to understand and predict their behaviors. He has carried out multiphase flow experiments using CT-scan, gamma rays, high speed camera and light diodes for measurements in low-pressure flow loop at Multiphase Flow Department of IFE, Norway. He has performed several numerical studies on multiphase flow in both pipes and reservoirs.
As an academic, He has taught several undergraduate and postgraduate courses related to oil and gas engineering, fluid flow engineering. He has supervised over fifty (50) undergraduate projects. He has completed the supervision of over three M-Eng dissertations, and currently supervising four (4) active PhD students. He has published over twenty (20) scholarly articles in reputable journals both locally and internationally and also attended conferences and presented papers. He has reviewed over ten (10) manuscripts for some journals. He is an Associate Editor for Petroleum and Petrochemical Engineering Journal, Subject Editor in Petroleum Engineering for Engineering Perspective –An International Journal, and Member of Editorial Board– Journal of Oil and Gas Research Reviews.
Livinus is a registered Engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN); Member, Nigerian Society of Engineers; Member, Nigerian Institution of Petroleum Engineers (NIPetE) of which he is the Financial Secretary of the South-South Chapter, and Member, Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE International).
His research interests include; multiphase flow modelling and simulation in both porous media and pipelines, modelling and simulation of underground Carbon IV Oxide and hydrogen gas storages in depleted reservoirs, and application of machine learning in petroleum industry activities.

Bliss Utibe-Abasi Stephen currently holds the position Postgraduate Coordinator in Department of Computer Engineering in University of Uyo. Dr Ogungbemi Emmanuel
Dr. Ogungbemi Emmanuel is a distinguished researcher and educator in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, with a specialized focus on Electronics, Wireless Sensor Networks, Telecommunication Security, and Network Security. He currently serves as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Uyo and brings over 18 years of experience in academia and industry. Dr. Emmanuel has made significant contributions to the design, analysis, and optimization of communication systems.
Dr. Emmanuel earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Uyo, where his doctoral research focused on designing a secure lightweight cluster-based authentication protocol for Machine-Type Communication devices in 4G and 5G networks. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles in high-impact journals and has presented his work at international conferences, with particular expertise in Wireless Sensor Networks.
A dedicated educator, Dr. Emmanuel teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Electronics, Communication Systems, and related fields, while also mentoring and supervising graduate students. His commitment to fostering innovation and nurturing the next generation of engineers has earned him several accolades, including the Best Paper Presentation Award at the ASSET Conference 2023.
In addition to his academic endeavors, Dr. Emmanuel collaborates with industry partners on projects that connect academic research to practical applications. Notably, he was part of the team that won the 2022 MathWorks Mini Drone Competition, representing Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. He along with some of his colleagues has registered two Patents.
Dr. Emmanuel is also a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and an active member of the International Information System Security Certification Consortium. He is affiliated with professional organizations such as the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), and the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).
