Dr Phillip Asuquo
Philip Asuquo received his B.Eng. degree in Computer Engineering from University of Uyo in 2008, MSc degree in Computer Network Technology with Distinction from Northumbria University, Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK in 2011 and PhD in Communications and Network Security at the Institute for Communications Systems (ICS), 5G Innovation Centre, University of Surrey. He has been involved in EU Framework Programs (FP) and EPSRC research projects (PETRAS)- {Connected Autonomous Vehicles (CAV), Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), Location Based Services for Privacy, Trust, Reliability, Acceptability and Security of Internet of Things} and European Telecommunication Standard Institute (ETSI) topology modelling for Emergency Communications under the principal investigator, Dr Haitham Cruickshank and Prof Zhili Sun.
He is currently the Head of Department and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Engineering, University of Uyo and has worked as a Research Assistant, Research Fellow and Senior Research Fellow (Contract) from October 2016 – May 2019 at PETRAS Internet of Things Research Hub, a consortium of eleven leading UK universities working together to explore critical issues in privacy, ethics, trust, reliability, acceptability, and security. He has also been part of the Transport and Mobility demonstrator for Connected Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs) which was demonstrated as IoT TRAM Project in collaboration with the UK Government. He was also fully involved in the Cyberhygiene project at University College London (UCL) which was led by Professor Jeremy Watson from May 2016-August 2017.
He has presented papers in IEEE Conferences at University of Cambridge, Cardiff and Bologna and several other workshops on Cyber Security for Critical Infrastructures. He has published in High Impact Factor journals including IEEE Internet of things, IEEE JSAC and Elsevier Future Generation Computer Systems. He is also a Journal Reviewer for Elsevier, IEEE IoT and several Springer Journals. He is a pioneer facilitator of the Nigerian Universities E-learning program under the Federal Ministry of Education and attended the take-off technical session in collaboration with Pearson and Park Associates at Boston, Massachusetts in November 2013.
He is also a member of various professional bodies including Nigerian Computer Society (NCS), Computer Professionals Registration Council (CPN), Nigerian Computer Society (NCS) Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), and a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

Engr Dr Bliss Utibe-Abasi Stephen
Bliss Utibe-Abasi Stephen currently holds the position Postgraduate Coordinator in Department of Computer Engineering in University of Uyo. He got his Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Uyo, Uyo, Nigeria. His second and third degrees (M.Eng and PhD respectively) were in Electronic/Computer Engineering from Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria. He has research interest in Software Engineering, cyber security and artificial intelligence.
